MORE-CARE Project (ENK5-CT1999-00119)
Description: "MORE ADVANCED CONTROL ADVICE FOR SECURE OPERATION OF ISOLATED POWER SYSTEMS WITH INCREASED RENEWABLE ENERGY PENETRATION AND STORAGE."

This project has as main objective the development of MORE-CARE, an advanced Energy Management System (EMS) aiming to optimise the overall performance of isolated and weakly interconnected power systems in liberalized market environments by increasing the share of wind energy and other renewable forms (e.g. hydro, PV etc.). It takes into account pumped hydro storage facilities and provides advanced on-line security functions, both in preventive and corrective mode.
